Vintage Door Headboard with Burlap Inserts

Reclaimed Rustics latest Vintage Door Headboard. This time we added burlap inserts over the existing panels and kept our signature true 2" x 6" topper. This vintage door headboard comes with the original hardware and measures 76" in length (King Bed). Some of the original white color shows through the second (and last) coat of yellow paint which, along with the entire piece, has been encapsulated with a satin, clear polyurethane. $625/pick up and local delivery.

Rustic Tailgate Headboard

This is not your typical tailgate or headboard for that matter. It is, by far, the most original headboard that I have created (reclaimed & re-purposed) and the most unique headboard I have ever seen. Originally, this rustic, tailgate headboard sat on the back of a feed truck. It was home made and has a working slide (as seen in the first picture) that was raised and lowered by the handle to release the feed. The original plate (upper left plate) was last registered in 1982, the same year the gate was retired. Weighing well over 200 lbs, this the tailgate is held together with 2 x 6's, 3" x 3/4" tongue & groove, heavy duty iron and too many 3/8" nuts and bolts to count.
The proud, new owner liked the idea of adding reclaimed license plates so I got him started with a few that I have collected over the years, including a 1950 Idaho trailer plate. He also requested nightstands to match the look of the gate which I made out of reclaimed, true 2 x 4's and 3/4" x 7" half lap. Although the tailgate appears to be resting on the nightstands it is supported by 2 x 6 legs hidden from sight.
I'm sure that the original builder was overjoyed with his/her quality creation and received many years of use out of it. Breathing new life into this old, wood relic, giving it new life, a new purpose and a new home, well lets just say I know how he/she must have felt! ...And for the new owner, how cool is it to say "I am the only person in the whole world with a headboard like this"!
(More pictures will follow soon as I am building a bench foot board to finish off the set).

Vintage Door Headboard

Vintage Door Headboard & Foot board and Barnwood Bench

This Queen bed frame is part of the Barn wood Armoire & Nightstands that follow this post. My client reclaimed these doors (along with the lumber used to make the foot board bench) from her grandmothers old home in Utah and requested a tall, rustic bed frame (with rails). This is a bed you literally have to jump into as the top of the mattress is 39" off the floor. Both doors had to be re-worked and downsized to accommodate the rails (true 1" x 12" barn wood). They are both topped with true 2" x 6" pieces of reclaimed lumber that reveal distressed, saw blade kerf marks.
(I like this look so much that I will now be renovating my current vintage door head and footboard)!

Barn/Shed Door Headboard

This is a Barn/Shed door that I retrieved during a tear down, in its original, over 100 year old state. I turned it horizontal and added the true, 2x6 piece of lumber to top off this Queen Size Headboard. Just screw or bolt your bed frame to the legs and your "Arena" will be complete!

Rustic Headboard

Combining old tongue and groove pine with true, 2x4 and 2x6 lumber creates this awesome, Rustic Headboard!

Vintage Door Headboard/Foot Board

The Headboard has been remastered to include faux leather cushions that replace the three panels. A top shelf was also added. The Foot Board is a refinished panel door connected to one of my favorite Rustic Benches.
